I discovered life coaching and everything changed without changing anything. Life coaching is simply slowing down and realizing what we are believing. I was telling myself that good moms should want to serve every minute of every day. But lets stop to think about it. It sounds nice, but that thought had me “ON” as mom 24/7. Being on 24/7 was resulting in burnout and resentment.
I thought my kids and husband were causing the burnout and resentment. A simple change of what I told myself daily to “Good moms take everyone’s well being into consideration” how I showed up in life. Taking time off for my needs no longer led me to guilt. I was more willing to be present when I was with my family. It was now ok for my kids to miss me while I went out for a girls night, and I didn’t mind driving them to their activities instead of staying home.
So taking a little time to stop and examine the sentences in my brain, created more peace and joy in my life. That is the power of a life coach. And because everything we do, think, or say goes through our brain, we can be coached on literally anything. Some common themes I coach on regularly are relationships, body image, goals, feeling stuck in life, not knowing what decision to make, finding purpose in life, weight loss, and the list goes on and on.
