Picture of Perfectionism
Is perfectionism defining you in your motherhood journey? You are making sure the kids always look presentable before leaving the house. It is your job to make sure your kids behave appropriately when out and about. Your home needs to be clean. That’s your job as a mother.
Or is it?
Perfectionism is driven by not wanting to make mistakes, so others can’t judge you for them. But really people can and do judge us all the time. There is no stopping the judgement that comes.
We can’t stop the judgement of others, but we can work on our own judgement. What if you stopped judging yourself for not being good enough.
Another Way to Live
What if life was meant to be 50/50. Half the time you are on top of our game rocking it and half the time you are a hot mess. Half the time those kids look fantastic going to school and the other half the time you are just grateful they have clothes on. Half the time they have picture perfect hair that you did and half the time they did their own hair. And it’s obvious they did it. Or maybe it didn’t get brushed at all. Half the time your house is put together and half the time it’s a mess.
What if you stopped judging yourself for not having it all together all the time? Would that bring some relief to you?
Give Yourself Time to Overcome Perfectionism
It might be difficult in the beginning because you are learning a new dance in life, but after you learn the new dance it is going to be beautiful and wonderful. What if you could relax and enjoy life a little more by dropping some of the pressure you put on yourself mama. Life is meant to be enjoyed, not a constant struggle to not drop any of the balls.
